Evolved Ways is a registered NDIS Service Provider. We can work with Participants who are 'Self-managed', 'Plan-managed' and 'Agency Managed'
Evolved Ways proudly abides by the NDIS Code of Conduct and the Australian Psychological Society Code of Ethics in delivering its professional service.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) helps people better manage challenging behaviours and improve their quality of life. Our approach focuses on understanding the underlying causes of behaviour and creating tailored strategies that promote positive change. We work collaboratively with participants, their families and support teams to develop supportive, person-centered plans that focus on building skills, increasing independence, and improving well-being.
Evolved Ways assists Participants to build the skills they need to understand and use their plan. Support coordinators ensure a mix of supports are used to increase capacity to maintain relationships, manage service delivery tasks, live more independently and be included in their community.
This is a higher level of support coordination. It is for people whose situations are more complex and who need specialist support. A Specialist Support Coordinator assists Participants to manage challenges in their support environment and ensuring consistent delivery of service.
Assistance for Participants to build capacity and resilience through strong and respectful relationships to support people with psychosocial disability to live a full and contributing life. This support is designed to be able to maintain engagement through periods of increased support needs due to the episodic nature of mental illness. Recovery Coaches work collaboratively with Participants, families, carers and other services to identify, plan, design and coordinate NDIS supports.
Some participants have a significant and compelling need for Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). An Occupational Therapist with experience in functional capacity assessments for SDA and Supported Independent Living (SIL) uses their expertise to evaluate eligibility in line with SDA criteria. These assessment services are funded through the Improved Daily Living budget.
Some Participants require Positive Behaviour Support funded through their NDIS Plan to help enhance their quality of life and address behaviours of concern. A registered psychologist and behaviour support practitioner can carry out an assessment and prepare a report with tailored recommendations, including behaviour support where appropriate. These services are funded under the Improved Daily Living budget.
Founded in 2021, Evolved Ways draws upon over 17 years of experience in mental health, bolstered by professional qualifications in psychology and criminology. Our approach is rooted in a person-centered and family-centered framework, emphasizing mental health and recovery support. Director Kasia O'Shea is a registered Behaviour Support Practitioner under the NDIS Commission, further enhancing our commitment to quality care and expertise.
Evolved Ways assists participants who aspire to explore disability housing options, such as home modifications, SDA, SIL, and ILO. We collaborate with participants and their support networks to assess both NDIS and mainstream options, determining the most advantageous path forward. In cases where NDIS housing and home living supports are pursued, our thorough investigative processes and detailed reports ensure that applications align with relevant regulations and legislation for assessment.
On a case-by-case basis, relevant legislation needs to be referred to, interpreted and applied in Support Coordination/Specialist Support Coordination. We consider the application of law and outcomes from Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) to inform the best approach when supporting Participants to strive toward their goals.
The impact of Support Coordination and other capacity-building supports relies heavily on the expertise, qualifications, and personal attributes of the professional delivering them.
